• Is financial aid available at St. Paul's School?

  Yes. St. Paul's School is fortunate to have the support of our endowment, loyal alumni, and other constituents to defray the actual cost of educating a student at SPS. For the 2021-22 school year, SPS offered $12 million in financial aid to 211 students. • Will applying for financial aid affect my child's chances for admission?

  St. Paul’s provides need-based financial aid to all admitted students who demonstrate need, but the admission process is not 100 percent need-blind. In limited cases a family’s need for financial aid may influence an admission decision.

• How are financial aid awards determined?

  Need-based financial aid takes into account each family’s income, assets, and reasonable expenses. After determining a manageable family contribution, St. Paul’s School endeavors to meet the family’s need with grants.

• Will our financial aid change from year to year?

  Possibly. Financial need and awards are recalculated every year using up-to-date information. If there is little change in a family's circumstances, one can expect that future grants will be awarded at similar levels.

• Can a family that does not receive financial aid upon admittance receive financial aid in future years?

  If a family did not apply for or did not qualify for financial aid upon admission to the School, we will consider awarding financial aid only if the family is experiencing a significant change in circumstances. Typical changes would be an employment change, a large decrease in income, or an increase in the number of children attending tuition-charging institutions.

• Who qualifies for financial aid?

  There are many factors that affect award decisions, including a family's income, assets, and number of children in tuition-charging schools. To get a better idea of financial aid eligibility, please visit our Financial Aid Estimator.

• What about cases of divorce, separation, and single parents?

  St. Paul's School will consider the income and assets of both biological parents in determining an award. If either parent has remarried, we also will consider the income and assets of stepparents, bearing in mind responsibilities that stepparents may have for their own biological children.

• Does St. Paul's School award financial aid to international students?

  The School offers a very limited amount of financial aid to international students. International applicants should complete the same Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) that domestic applicants complete by converting their income to U.S. dollars. They should also submit any relevant tax or asset information as necessary. • What are the deadlines when applying for financial aid?

  January 15: Complete the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) at sssandtadsfa.force.com. Upload copies of last year's completed IRS 1040s including all schedules, W-2s and 1099s to SSS.
  
  March 10: Financial aid decisions are available to families of newly admitted students.
