After an abbreviated season due to the pandemic, the girls XC season is looking forward to a fall that looks much like pre-Covid days. Captains Daphne Garrett ’22, Caroline Light ’22, and Madeline Mitchell ’22, are not only running well for the Big Red but are also enthusiastically leading the 25-girl squad comprised of half returners and half new comers.
Sisters Gaby and Ally Martiniello ’24 will continue to be impactful runners as will Georgia Alessio ’23, Annabelle Brown’22, and Kate Taylor’23. As Sixth Formers, veterans Katie Barker ’22 and Addie Selch ’22 bring depth, maturity, and predictability to the group.
New runners to watch are Gretta White ’25, Serena Cody ’22, Skylar Christofferson ’24, Tattie Gibbs ’24, Jean Gurali ’25, Ava Price ’24, Lidia Zur Muhlen ’24, and Lilly Ehlinger ’24.
Veterans Elizabeth Painter’22 and Becca Barnard ’24 have been terrific ambassadors to developing runners Fleur Caryl-Klika ’25, Kira McGill ’24, Kelly Sung ’25, Daisy Wu ’25, and Miya Zhang ’25. After their exceptional performance against Lawrence Academy and St. Mark’s School, the team is clearly poised and ready for the season ahead.
