In the 128th year of ice hockey at St. Paul’s School, the 2022-2023 boys varsity hockey team is proud to carry on the rich history of hockey excellence that dates back to the late 1800s. The storied tradition has seen the likes of hockey legends such as Malcolm Gordon, Hobey Baker, Don Sweeney, Jeff Halpern, Jason Botterill, Jeff Giuliano, and the first organized hockey game in the United States, which took place on Millville’s very own Lower School Pond in 1883. It is on the banks of the pond, at the Hockey Center on the Gordon and Ingalls rinks, where the tradition continues, and this year’s edition of the “Big Red” hockey team will put in many hours of hard work based around grit, determination, and discipline to improve as a team with each passing day this winter. Playing a very competitive non-league NEPSAC schedule and the Lakes Region League Schedule, the season will be an exciting one.
