Heidi grew up in Rose Valley, Pennsylvania. She attended both Strath Haven High School and Mercersburg Academy. She studied English and German at Albright College before attending the University of Pennsylvania to study education.
While in Philadelphia, she taught at several schools, including South Philadelphia High School, Germantown Academy, and Berlitz Language School where she taught English to the Turkish Secret Service and Police. Afterward, she joined Outward Bound in Florida and Atlanta where her work focused on adjudicated youth and special populations.
In 2000, she moved to New Hampshire and became a fundraiser. She spent 12 years at Dartmouth College as the Parent Fund Director before joining the SPS team. She lives in New London, N.H. with her husband and son.
