Big Red fall to the Bears at the Avon Christmas Classic

The second game of the Avon Old Farms Christmas Classic was played at 11:00 am on the
Trinity College campus in the Koeppel Ice Arena against the Berkshire School “Bears.” The
“Big Red” tried to shake off their tough loss the night before to the tournament hosts, but fell
behind quickly when they gave up two goals in the first half of the game on defensive miscues.
For the rest of the game, they chased the game and could not get a goal to put pressure on the
Berkshire defense. Over the remaining time in regulation, the Berkshire skaters built their lead to
4 - 0 before Pat Cooley ̕25 (Rutland, VT) would score the “Pelicans” lone goal on a breakaway.
Treva Murphy ̕25 (Manchester, NH) played another very strong game in the net, but did not get
the necessary goal support needed to give the team a chance for the win.
