St. Paul’s School Sweeps St. George’s to Start the Season

The SPS Big Red Squash Team started their season off with a dominant win against the St. George’s Dragons, sweeping every spot in the line-up. With all starting players returning from a team that finished tenth in the nation last spring, the Big Red jumped out to a quick lead during the first round of matches. In the first round of matches, Angel Hu, Lele Gibbs, Tattie Gibbs, and Ava Detweiler each earned decisive 3-0 victories at positions 2, 4, 6, and 8 putting St. Paul’s within one match of victory. The Big Red would not have to wait long, as the second round of matches proved equally decisive, with Calla Yim, Catherine Li, Tori Thill, and Daisy Wu winning 3-0 as well at positions 1, 3, 5, and 7. These wins solidified a 7-0 sweep for St. Paul’s to start off the 2023-2024 season.

The Big Red are excited to carry this momentum forward to next week, where they will have their home opener against the Brooks School on Wednesday.
