St. Paul’s 3 – Tilton 1

The Big Red returned to Hunt field and captured their third Lakes Region win in a row.  The Tilton Rams were the opponent this time.  Just six minutes in, tri captain Randy Fu ’25 pushed through some space he created in the box only to be taken down.  Brandon Cho ’24 finished the penalty kick when he put home his own rebound after a nice keeper save of the initial shot.  Tilton fought back and pounced on a rebound to make it 1 – 1 just five minutes later.  Play settled down as the Big Red held most of the possession and moved the ball from side to side creating several quality chances.  With just under twenty minutes to play in the half, it would be Cho again putting the Big Red in the lead.  Brandon collected a loose rebound in the box from a Will Iller shot and wasted no time finishing.  SPS took the 2 – 1 lead into the half time break.

The second half showed much of the same from the Big Red.  The squad won more second balls and fed off the work rate of Tom Wang ’24 and Pat Cooley ’25.  Randy Fu was consistent in the middle of the park spreading the ball to the flanks.  Cooley would finish the scoring for the day as he struck a nice ball into the far corner from the top of the box ten minutes into the half.  This one came from a nice bangu pass from Henry Wilson ’26 on the right flank. Hunter Morton ’26 and Teddy Sulger ’27 did a solid job in the net for the Big Red, communicating well and distributing smartly.

On Friday night, the Big Red heads to the hive of the Proctor Hornets for a night game in the cool mountain air.  Bundle up and come join the action.
