SPS GV FH 3-1 Win at KUA

St. Paul’s traveled up to Kimball Union Academy on a hot day in October. 80 degree temperatures on the turf tested both teams. SPS scored halfway through the first quarter when Charlotte Wensley ‘24 scored a shot off her own rebound on a short corner. In the second corner the Pelicans played a strong possession game. Cami Bell ‘24 scored on an assist from Kate Pura ‘24 with 4:15 left in the half. In the third corner Wensley socred again, a bullet from the top of the circle, passed to her by Maude Niemann ‘25 off a clean, strong insert from Chelsea Bell ‘26. KUA was awarded a stroke and buried it in the fourth quarter. The offensive line, Cami Bell, Pura, Caroline Humber ‘25, Addie Hayne ‘26, Chelsea Bell, and Caroline Frost ‘25 truly came alive this game, and each player demonstrated a fantastic work ethic and excellent passing plays. In the midfield Bella Perry ‘25, Neimann, Thayer Demers ‘26, Wensley, and Maisie Koo ‘25 used the width of the field and played well together. The SPS defensive unit, built from the back by Parker Hanson ‘25 and Allison Jankowski ‘24, and powered with hustle and great instincts by Eliza Ekstrand ‘24, Sam Moyer ‘24, and Addie Pinard ‘25 held KUA off from any field play points. Offensive and defensive corner unites both stepped up. Goalkeeper Ally Martiniello ‘24 made 8 crucial saves. SPS will host Deerfield on Sat 10/7.
