SPS FH beats NMH

SPS Prevails 3-1 over NMH
On a lovely Fall day in Gill, MA, SPS recovered from an early goal by NMH to win the game. At 6:59 in the first quarter, Kate Pura ’24 scored in the midst of a hard scrabble tussle on the goal line. At 9:45 in the second quarter, Cami Bell ’24 finished on a corner after Pura deflected a hard shot from the top of the circle from Charlotte Wensley ’24. The third and final goal of the game came when Bell ’24 lifted a well-placed corner shot on the goal line after Wensley shot a hard ball at the top of the circle off a give and go from Thayer Demers ’26. Parker Hanson ’25, Allison Jankowski ’24, and Eliza Ekstrand ’24 held down the backfield with confidence and strength. Bella Perry ’25, Wensley ’24, and Demers stood out in the midfield with skilled passing patterns and distribution. Addie Hayne ’26, Caroline Humber ’25, Chelsea Bell ’26, Erin Flaherty ’27 and Ava Hunter ’25 kept constant pressure and set up several opportunities offensively with constant shots on net. The Big Red’s offensive corner play was especially strong with several well-timed plays providing great chances against a strong NMH goalie. Flaherty stepped into the goalkeeper’s pads in the fourth quarter, demonstrating her team-first attitude. SPS next plays at New Hampton on Monday Oct 2.
