Big Red Lose Road Battle at Brooks

The Big Red traveled to the Dusty Richards Field at the Brooks School for a mid-week match up.  It was an evenly played first half with SPS putting good pressure on the ball and keeping the technically skilled Brooks side out of the danger areas.  Fourth former Will Iller created several turnovers with his high work rate helping the Big Red keep the ball, but the squad was not able to get the early lead.  Kristof Lovegren ’25 was solid in the Big Red net.  Brooks’ possession over time began to wear down the Big Red defense and the home side was able to score what would become the game winner, with under a minute to go in the half.

Despite coming out hard in the second half, SPS was not able climb back into this one.  Brooks took advantage of miscues by the Big Red to put the game out of reach. There were moments to build upon as the combination play in the midfield showed promise and the willingness to work hard until the final whistle will pay dividends as the season goes along.

This coming weekend St. Paul’s plays in Albany, NY at the NXT LVL Jamboree with over thirty other New England Prep Schools.  The Big Red will take on the Arrows of St. Sebastian’s at 3:00 on Sunday.  We hope you can make the trip.
