SPS Beats KUA in Scrimmage 5-0

St. Paul’s School Varsity Field Hockey kicked off the season with a rainy but powerful opener. Co-captain Cami Bell ‘24 scored three of the Pelicans’ five goals and assisted the fourth, tallied by Chelsea Bell ‘26. Chelsea Bell and Sarah Ernst ‘24 both made well placed assists, and Caroline Humber ‘25 scored the Big Red’s fifth and final goal in the fourth quarter. A fresh and aggressive offensive line, led by Kate Pura ‘24 and Erin Flaherty ‘27 kept constant pressure, and Sam Moyer ‘24, Thayer Demers ‘26, and Bella Perry ‘25 set up excellent passing plays in the midfield. Co-captain Eliza Ekstrand ‘24, Charlotte Wensley ‘24, Parker Hanson ‘25, and Allison Jankowski ‘24 held down the backfield with poise. Newcomer goalkeeper Ally Martiniello ‘23 delivered a shutout and two saves in her first ever field hockey competition. Maude Neimann ‘25, Maisie Koo ‘24, Addie Pinard ‘25, Addie Hayne ‘26, Caroline Frost ‘25, and Ava Hunter ‘25 contributed fantastic game sense and tireless work ethic on the field. The team’s coaches are thrilled with every player’s effort today and can’t wait for the games to begin!
