California and Wyoming
The Susan and Coleman P. Burke '59 Scholarship was established in May of 2014 to provide American teenagers from California and Wyoming with academic opportunities similar to those experienced by Mr. Burke while at SPS. The scholarship provides funding for each year of a student's attendance at St. Paul's School. Preference will be given to families for whom financial considerations are critical factors in making educational decisions.

The scholarship provides funding for each year of a student's attendance at St. Paul's School. Preference will be given to families for whom financial considerations are critical factors in making educational decisions.
The Burke Scholarship funds three to four years of study, but is awarded one year at a time. Every year the School conducts an annual review of each scholar's academic performance and achievement records. Although it is the School's intention to renew the scholarship each year, an award may be withdrawn if a recipient does not satisfy the School's academic and other requirements.
ELIGIBILITY
The Burke Scholarship will be awarded to selected students who live in California or Wyoming. In selecting recipients, personal characteristics such as maturity, independence, and self-reliance are important. Candidates should show patience and grace under pressure, as well as evidence of compassion, honesty, and trust. The candidate must be a good friend to others and open to new ideas, new points of view, and new challenges.
SELECTION PROCESS
All applicants from the eligible states will be considered for the Burke Scholarship. There is no separate application process. Finalists for the Burke Scholarship will be selected by the St. Paul’s School Admission Office and must apply for financial aid. Burke Scholarship recipients will be selected by Coleman P. Burke ’59 and his son Erik B. Burke ’87 and will be notified about their admission to St. Paul’s School on March 10.
