Academic Support

Managing extracurricular commitments and academics can be difficult to navigate. Preparing for an exam or writing a report sometimes requires some extra support. The Academic Support Office helps students reach their academic potential with guidance that complements the support they receive from their teachers and advisers.

When the need arises, the Director of Academic Support meets individually with students to provide assistance with time management, organization, study strategies, test preparation, and other academic skills.

Support Options

Study Hall

A quiet and monitored Study Hall is offered four nights each week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during study hours (7:30-9:00 p.m.). Students may be assigned to Study Hall by their advisers or they may self-refer.
Teacher Extra Help

Students are encouraged to meet regularly with their teachers for extra help. Each teacher will announce to his or her students when extra help sessions take place.
Peer Tutoring

Peer tutors are currently available in the Mathematics, Science, and Languages divisions. Students interested in working with a peer tutor should communicate with their teacher, who will then contact the peer tutor coordinator.

The School uses a team approach in making disability and accommodation determinations, taking into consideration the student’s current performance in our academic setting.
