SPS Handed Disappointing Loss to Lawrence Academy

St. Paul’s suffered a disappointing loss at Lawrence Academy to bring their season record to 2-2. Although St. Paul’s was hoping to build on the energy and hard work against Nobles, Lawrence Academy came out strong and worked hard to keep SPS uncomfortable throughout the match. Strong serving, tough defense at the net, and strategic hitting helped Lawrence win the first set 18-25. St. Paul’s regrouped and focused behind the blocking of Manon Lesort ’24 and Ellie Pingree ’24 to dominate the second match 25-16, but we could not sustain the effort and dropped the third set 19-25. Celia Hepp ’26 and Scout Labiotte ’26 brought good energy to the court on the offense and defense, respectively, but it was not enough to stop Lawrence from taking the fourth set and the match.
