The St. Paul’s School boys cross-country team is looking forward to a safe return to regular racing after an abbreviated but still successful 2020 season.
Captains Ciaran Henry ‘22 and Eldon “Cub” Scott ‘22 have been inspiring in the early practices of the season, and their leadership has set a high standard for tenacious training and an inclusive team community. Jonny Dase ‘24 emphasized the power of consistent off-season work by winning the year’s opening time trial, which featured strong showings from several returning runners who were clearly ready to compete in the first week.
The team warmly welcomes new runners Josh Barker-Stewart ‘25, Andrew Carroll ‘25, Ian Chang ‘25, Declan Cody ‘25, Shaoqian “Sam” Du ‘25, Xuanzhi “Jerry” Fu ‘24, Diego Gonzalez ‘25, Thad Lucentini ‘25, Luke Newhall ‘24, Tyler Wang ‘25, and Sean-Michael “Mikey” Williams ‘25.
SPS will first race away at Lawrence Academy on September 18 with a limited squad. All runners should be in action the following Wednesday, September 22, at home against several Lakes Region schools.
